Info: On March 12th 2016 F_Festival, a new multifaceted festival aimed at generating visibility and equality for women in the arts will launch various female focused events throughout the city centre.
Hosted in a number of top venues in Dublin, F_Festival will feature some of the best and brightest female/female fronted talents in music, art, spoken word, comedy and poetry across the various locations.
Venues include Hangar, The Grand Social, Wigwam, Film Base, The Back Loft, Sweeney's & The Gallery of Photography.
The festival will commence with a series of relative and topical discussions kicking off at 12pm. Festival goers will then be given the opportunity to walk around our glorious city and visit venues to bask in the many shows, concerts, films, and exhibitions on offer.
It can now be confirmed that on March 12th SPINES, Twin headed Wolf and I Am Niamh will perform in The Grand Social.
SPINES are an exciting four piece all female alternative band who have been featured widely across Irish media and recently played at the Spotlight Showcase in The Button Factory.
I Am Niamh is a multi-instrumentalist who’s classically trained voice and electronica tendencies earned her ‘Album of the Week’ on both The Irish Times (Nialler9) and The Alternative (Dan Hegarty).
Twin Headed Wolf are an eccentric folk flavoured double act hailing from the wilds of West Clare. Described by Hotpress magazine as "a playful, experimental, ingenious mix of old and new”.
On the lead up to the festival, F_Festival will be releasing podcasts featuring interviews with performers and people of interest by Jack Olohan and Jana Felice of Radiomade. Each show will include a discussion with a performers/artists where they will discuss their work, the difficulties facing women in the arts and how they have overcome these obstacles themselves.
F_Festival aims to celebrate women in the arts, focus on equality and provide both an enjoyable and educational experience to its visitors.
