The Future West - The Last Known Soldier

Info: With influences ranging from Daft Punk to At The Drive-In, Joy Division to Ennio Morricone. The Future West are a “Retro-Psych-Wave” 5 piece from Dundalk, Louth. Currently standing with a live show full of spontaneity and going the D.I.Y/Lo-Fi route, the band have just finished recording their debut album which was self-produced in their home studio. The record will be out March 2017 and will be backed by a run of UK shows. All past releases are currently available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all other good streaming services.

As always, Dundalk act The Future West bring you on a spiraling trip into their world of psychedelic pleasantness on new single 'The Last Known Soldier', vocally it's a happy type of angst that is proffered by frontman Francis Watters. Musically the band seem to have engaged even further into a contemporary take on classic Los Angeles psych music from the late 60's, The Electric Prunes and Strawberry Alarm Clock springing to mind here. The chaos and noise is most enjoyable, and there's a strident feel to the track when listened to side by side with previous single 'Gone Too Long'. We look forward to their debut album which is just around the corner now!
