Bayonets - Slow Burning Fire
Info: Bayonets is a solo, and occasionally collaborative, venture created by Kerry musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His style is a mix of alternative rock, indie, blues and folk. He is currently working with a music publishing company based in the US who are in the process of pitching one of his tracks to three prime time TV shows.
Ahead of the release of a debut solo album later this year, single and video 'Slow Burning Fire' was just released on Friday, June 2nd, and your next chance to catch Bayonets is at The Workman's Club on Saturday June 10th as part of Gigonomoterys Summer Anthology.
Whilst there was more than plenty to enjoy and admire in Flynn's previous full-band project, it is quickly apparent that this is where he is most at home, creatively, vocally, and in imparting added depth to his music. 'Slow Burning Fire' has all of the traits of a contemporary folk-rock track steeped in mountainous Americana landscapes whilst spanning all four seasons. Even without the impressive accompanying video it's a very visual experience, with the vocals earnestly putting meaning behind every word that is sung. The string arrangements also add immeasurably to the enchanting mood of the song, an impressive first single from Bayonets that piques much interest for the forthcoming LP.
