New Irish Music - Heroes in Hiding

Info: From ponderous musings to powerful outbursts Dublin band Heroes in Hiding seem to have a good grasp of the auld art of song-writing. After a long barren spell for music in Dublin, hearing their new E.P. along with other bands which have been recently reviewed, gives you hope. Title track from the E.P. 'Hush' (see below) has a very Fleet Foxes feel to it, but the band are by no means restricted to uplifting folky music. The other three tracks from the recording, 'Bruises', 'Smoke Signals' and in particular the beautiful 'Star-Crossed' are evidence of a bow with more than one string, drifting from catchy indie-rock to an 80's feel before recapturing the exciting sound of early 90's Dublin bands, it's a very pleasant mix.

So who are Heroes in Hiding exactly and where can we see them? Dublin band, Heroes in Hiding, have returned to the Irish Music Scene after a 3-year hiatus. The now 4-piece folk rock outfit has just released a 4 track EP for free download on the 23rd March 2014 on Spotify, Sound Cloud and BandCamp. This release has been accompanied by a new Music Video for the title track off the EP, Hush. The band will take to the stage for their first headline show in 3 years on Friday 13th June 2014 in the Grand Social in Dublin. This show will be to celebrate the official release of their second EP, Can’t Dance, on the 6th June to iTunes and all major digital distribution outlets.
