News: Forbidden Fruit 2018 - New Monday Acts Announced

Forbidden Fruit Line Up 2018

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - American Guilt

Info: Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival have announced two big additions to the Monday line-up on June 4th in the shape of Rhye and Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Shrouded in mystery, RHYE first surfaced setting the Internet abuzz with ambiguous imagery, sophisticatedly sensual music videos, and that distinctive falsetto. Following the runaway online success of two initial singles, the critically acclaimed debut album Woman was released in 2013 and lauded by critics from Pitchfork (Best New Album) to The Guardian to New York Times.

Gifted songwriting, breathtaking vocals and deft instrumental arrangements combine to create an intoxicating blend of R&B influenced, deeply emotive music. Originally a duo, RHYE has transformed into a collective, now elevated by a cast of accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Their expansive live show indelibly impacted the music for their second full-length album Blood, just released this February.

New Zealand psychedelic rockers UMO aka Unknown Mortal Orchestra will hit Irish shores for this year’s Forbidden Fruit Festival. Brainchild of Ruban Nielson, this exciting band have been building a loyal fanbase, from touring extensively in the US, Canada and Europe with sell out shows and having been featured in DIY Magazine, Dazed Digital, Uncut, Q Magazine, and MOJO. Their new album Sex & Food will be out April 6 - this is the band’s first release since their acclaimed 2015’s Multi-Love album. For a taster of their latest sound, check out animated video for 'American Guilt' - the first single to be taken from this highly anticipated album. These are a must see act for 2018!
