The GetUp Holy Moley

The GetUp - Holy Moley

Info: The GetUp have been busy at work the last couple of years creating a sound that is all their own, fusing elements of electronica, groove and dance in a live band setting. Four members, from the North-East; John (Keys/Synth/Vocoder), Shane (Guitar), Thom (Bass/Bass synth) & Joe (Drums/Percussion) all bring elements to the mixing pot and are standalone creators in their own right. The band decided early on to make something unique and have been pushing a synth-driven sound laden with groove to a number of packed out venues. Only now ready to unleash their sound to the Irish music scene, the band are gearing up for the release of a series of singles throughout 2016.

The Alan Parsons Project, Prince and Daft Punk walk into a bar...you haven't heard this one? You have now. Drogheda / Dublin four-piece The GetUp have been patiently honing their neo-funk and electro-disco sounds in front of live audiences over the last few months, including last years Body & Soul and Le Chéile festivals, as well as numerous Dublin venues and their hometown of Drogheda. Above video 'Holy Moley' brings da funk, soulful disco and 70's meets 21st century electro fusion in one neat and instantly body-popping track, it's casual yet brimming with happiness. Upcoming gigs will be held at Odd Mollies in Drogheda on the 30th of April and the release party for their forthcoming single, 'Real Thing', in The Bello Bar on the 20th of May.
