Single: Psycho Comedy - One

Psycho Comedy One Liverpool

Psycho Comedy - One

Info: Liverpool psychedelic quintet Psycho Comedy have announced the release of their debut single 'One'. Following in the footsteps of the likes of The Vryll Society, Her’s and Trudy, the five-piece are the latest act to emerge from Merseyside’s burgeoning music scene with debut release One conveying a heavily anarchist feel.

With influences ranging from Pink Floyd to The Stooges, Psycho Comedy’s sound combines elements of experimental and dreamy progressive punk, and whilst fairly minimal in hooks, the band remain firm in their message with unapologetic and dark urban, social and humorous lyrics. Produced by Gil Norton, (Pixies, Foo Fighters), Psycho Comedy’s One is released on 3rd June via Playing With Sound.

Liverpudlian five-piece Psycho Comedy have managed to recreate late-60's psychedelic garage sounds on their new single 'One' with great aplomb. It has all the wild abandon and sonic chaos of The Velvet Underground's 'I Heard Her Call My Name' and the raw garage punk of The Sonics with a decidedly modern twist. The sounds on the track melt into a funnel of nonchalant swagger and when the mix is complete you're almost hypnotically taken along for the Psycho Comedy ride, and it's a cool trip.
