Info: REMY's monthly new album releases round-up returns for July, featuring singles already released from albums coming out over the next three weeks (and the one just past) in the above playlist.
Starting off with a sizzlingly funky neo-soul groover from L.A.'s The Internet and their KAYTRANADA remixed single 'Roll (Burbank Funk)' which is taken from their fourth studio album, Hive Mind, dropping on the 20th of July. Staying in California, old favourite around these parts, Astronauts, etc. shares sophomore album Living in Symbol on the 27th, it's the follow up to 2015's Mind Out Wandering which featured in our Top 10 Albums of 2015.
There's some really slick surf-rock to be heard on New Jersey trio Dentist's new LP Night Swimming, Ty Segall teams up with White Fence on new album Joy, and finally on the 20th July there's the 3rd record from San Diego indie-pop duo Optiganally Yours, O.Y. in Hi-Fi.
Other releases come from another old musical flame of ours, Oakland's Tanukichan and her debut album Sundays, also two more debuts from Berlin-based Texan Lotic via Power, and Chicago's Gia Margaret with There's Always Glimmer. Finally we have new releases from Cincinnati four-piece The Ophelia's with Almost, and the only non-US act, Southampton, U.K. downtempo act Tropics (aka Chris Ward) and his fourth album, Nocturnal Sounds (which we squeeze into this list from a June 29th release date).
