Info: The latest MNÁSOME showcase of Irish female acts at The Workman's Club last Thursday was an absolute treat and a feast for the ears. It was great to catch a first glimpse of electro-pop act ELKAE (aka Laura Keane), and see the amazing BABA live for the first time too, a set that brushed with many genres, soul, funk, some sweet jazz percussion and even a wonderful piece of poetry to begin with. It was almost 2 years since I first saw Dreaming of Jupiter at a Gigonometry night, also in The Workman's Club, and it was hard not to admire how tight they have become on stage, but what I took most out their set was the energy and serious good time feels pouring out of their music. Lead-singer Zoe Gough also wowed us with some mighty fine blues-rock riffage to see out a highly enjoyable set from the four-piece.
